The 5th Australian Marine Turtle Symposium was held from 11th to 14th September in Ballina, NSW.
Due to Covid restrictions this year the presenters recorded their talks before the conference so that they could be live-streamed. This allowed participants to attend remotely from all over Australia and further afield.
In WA the conference attracted around 40 participants, with the online format allowing some participants that would not normally have had the chance to attend.
Considering the last minute change of format the event went ahead with very few technical hitches and we applaud the organising committee for all their hard work ensuring the success of the novel format.
We would like to thank all of the participants who attended the conference in WA, streamed live into DBCA's Kieron McNamara Conservation Science Centre.
It was a great opportunity to find out the latest information around marine turtle conservation in Australia and surrounding countries and to network with WA colleagues.
